A Bookish Update!

Hi guys! I  just thought I’d talk a little about all the bookish things that have happened within the past couple weeks.

Starting with my second book signing ever, which I attended on the 30th, but failed to post about until now, due to being busy, and well, being lazy.

This time, Penguin Teen on Tour came to Mysterious Galaxy books, and I got to hear the following authors chat about their books, and also the most random of topics: Alison Goodman (The Dark Days Club), Alwyn Hamilton (Rebel of the Sands), Rachel Hawkins (Hex Hall, Rebel Belles), Sabaa Tahir (An Ember in the Ashes) and April Genevieve Tucholke (Wink Poppy Midnight).

They answered questions about everything from their favorite villains (Voldemort, Hans Gruber and Prince Zuko were among them), and which Hogwarts houses they thought their characters would be sorted into. Among some other questions answered were:

Books they wished they could re-read: Daughter of Smoke and Bone & A Song of Fire and Ice were widely agreed upon

Books they wished they’d written: The group agreed on Outlander

Their least favorite word: “moist”, “crisps” and “lover” were among them

And, what crimes they would commit during a purge: Sabaa said she’d raid a weapon store and have an armed mini militia of children working as her crime-fighting minions

The topic of murder seemed to come up a lot. Quite a morbid group, but an extremely hilarious one as well. My next book signing: May 3rd, with Shannon Messenger, Debra Driza, and Amy Tintera!

Next Up:

I posted the first chapter of my story on Wattapad! It’s a mystery/romance and I’m going to try to upload a new chapter once a month, depending on how busy I am. I don’t want to rush myself so some chapters may take a little longer for me to write (and post) than others. But you guys should check it out! It’s called  The Deep End although that may just be a temporary title. And the crappy cover I edited in about 20 minutes is most definitely temporary.

There may be many typos, unfinished sentences and such. I’m not the best at proofreading my own work, and just last night I was going through and editing the already published chapter, and ended up very angry with myself over all the mistakes I found. Yikes.

As for what I’m currently reading?

I’m re-reading the Firelight series by the lovely Sophie Jordan, as well as We are the Ants by Shaun David Huthchinson, OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu, and Lies I Told by Michelle Zink. Yeah, I go kinda crazy. I can’t seem to read only one book at a time.

Upcoming Book Reviews?

There’s no way I’m posting a review for every book I’ve read the past few years, so here’s a list of some of the ones I picked out to review. Some of them I finished this year, while others I read a year or two or three ago.

A lot of my favorite authors’ books aren’t on here, but that’s because I’ll be talking about them a lot on my blog anyway, and I have a couple “top 5” or “top 10” post ideas for certain genres of books I’ve read, and a “Favorite Authors Appreciation” post in mind as well.
